Red Alarm
3-D polygons. Somthing we are all too familiar with in this day and age. We have Nintendo 64 pushing so many polygons per second and Playstation software z-buffered texture maps and a bunch of other crap. Red Alarm has 3-D polygons. Not those fancy texture-mapped ones that we're used to, but raw, transparent polygons, like those in the old Atari games, like Battle Zone. The graphics are actually pretty good, but sometimes enemies and items are hard to distinguish. The enviroments are pretty big with lots of secrets to find. The game has four different views: far behind, close behind, 3/4 view, and cockpit view. The 3/4 view is by far the most impressive graphically, but the hardest to control. I recommend the cockpit view or the close behind view. After each level, there's a replay of you playing the level where you have control over camera angles and stuff so it's cool. Bosses are big and difficult to beat on modes other than "EASY", so there's lots of replay value. Music is good but the sound gets pretty annoying after a while. I highly recommend this game. It's a perfect adition to your VB game library.
